All the aliens in LVJ are created by creature effects supervisor Brian Best. While working on films such as 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'The Mummy Returns', Brian took on the sole responsibility of designing and creating the aliens as well as supervising alien makeup throughout the movie.

An accomplished effects artist, Brian's credentials speak volumes on how lucky we were to have his help, his credits include 'Harry Potter', 'Gladiator', 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen', 'Blade 2' and more recently 'Batman Begins' and the upcoming remake of 'Clash of the Titans'.

Before Brian came onboard we planned that the aliens would be styled on the classic grey aliens of UFO mythology, but when Brian joined the team all bets were off and we were able to set out a brief that asked for an alien that looked cool and wouldn't appear out of place in the cantina from Star Wars. Various alien designs were sketched out by Brian, using various sea creatures as inspiration. Then once the final design was approved the physical creation started.
